This is one of the most popular electric motors out there.  Its made by a very popular company "Trinity".  So what did I think?  Well I've had my share of these motors.  My neighbor had one, I had 2.  I think there very nice for the price.  If you buy them make sure you get them from towerhobbies or similar for like $25.  Any more and its not worth it.   I haven't tried the new "Caliber" motor by trinity but that looks almost better for cheaper!  Anyways back to the Speed Gem2. Its nice.  

Its hard to judge rc motors though.  I don't have a dyno so it makes it hard.  Its better then some out there but not as reliable as my Kyosho Endoplasm 16x2.  I like the speed gem and think its nice.  But there is always something better.  I haven't had any problems on my Speed Gem 2's so go for it.  

According to RCCA a better motor to get for the same price is the PEAK PERFORMANCE THUNDERBOLT.  It looks good to me but I haven't had experience on it.  I would try the trinity caliber motor first,  if its not good its only $20 so its not a big deal, plus it has presoildered bullet connectors and capacitors.

It's popular and has proven performance!
