Jonathan's Custom RC Robot Project:
We all seen Robotica, Robot Wars, Battle Bots or others.  Its fun to watch and it be awesome to participate.  Well at least I think so.  I want to get on the show, or at least build one.   I'm all that smart in the "Large R/C" area, but that's all this is, BIG r/c cars!   That's why I think its awesome!

I haven't got that fair yet but after seeing robotica awhile ago I want to build a robot like "flexy flyer" you can find that web site here ...  I thought it was a wonderful design and can do off-road good, but I had to change it a little.  So what did I do?  I added more wheels.  So it would be 8wheel drive.  I hope I can build this thing, but the cost would be very high!  Its fun to learn about this stuff though.  About dc motors and controllers!  Here are some of my designs in JPEG format.

Its not all that good on there but on cad its even better.  To download a free version of 2d cad go to turbocad.com and you can download this cad file.  I put them in a couple of different formats so you can open them on different cad programs.

The plan is made so there should be 2 separate esc's running 2 6v batteries and 1 motor.  It is made this way to keep the weigh distributed correctly.  The one motor should be enough because the weight wont be very much I don't think.

Option #2 is to put in one controller and hook it up to 4 6v batteries 24 volts total and then hook it too 2 motors.

Steering works like a tank.  This is one of the most simple ways to do it.

If you have any suggestions of the design or where we can buy stuff please tell me.
